The development of the birth rate and preschool education in the Czech Republic after 1950 Abstract The main aim of the thesis is to map in detail the development of preschool education and financial support for families with children in the Czech Republic in the context of the development of birth rate after 1950. The development of birth rate in the thesis is not only analyzed by using basic indicators, but also through deeper decomposition methods. It turns out, that quality and availability of all network preschool institutions in the context has a certain role in the birth rate. The reconciliation of work and family is very important for lots of parents and sufficient offer of preschool care can help it. However, the demand for preschool institutions exceeded supply, as was shown in accordance with obtained data. It was also found out by the insight into the outcomes of surveys that the vast majority of respondents do not think that a preschool child of working mother would be suffering. In the future, should not only expand the capacity of childcare facilities as well as other options for facilitation of reconciling work and family life, such as better offer of flexible working hours. PaedDr. Jiřina Klenková, Ph.D. ABSTRACT THESIS: The aim of this diploma work was to analyse the issues relating to logopaedic intervention implemented in preschool facilities in the conditions of a district town. The diploma work was focused on determining the situation with training of educational workers involved in logopaedic care among children of preschool age, what cooperation is like with professional institutions in this area, what teaching methods preschool educators use in work with children and what kind of care kindergartens provide in relation to the development of speech skills. Professional literature relating to psychomotoric development of children of preschool age was analysed, along with communication, communication skills, speech development in children of preschool age and disruption of communication skills in children of preschool age. Legislation relating to education in kindergartens and logopaedic intervention in the Czech Republic was also examined. Pre-school childcare services in the Czech Republic as a tool for successful reconciling work and family

Diploma thesis "Služby péče o předškolní děti v České republice jako nástroj úspěšného slaďování práce a rodiny" evaluates the current system of pre-school childcare services in the Czech Republic as a tool for a successful reconciling work and family and tries to recommend particular steps that would contribute to improve the functioning of the system in the future. Within the current system evaluation, on the one hand, the aspects, which contribute to the functionality of the system were identified, but on the other hand, some of the deficiencies which may limit the functionality of the system were detected. Afterwards, the study devoted to the shortcomings in detail and to detecting their causes, which allow to think about the next steps in the future. To develop a new conception of family policy with the aim of removing shortcomings of the current system is presented as the main recommendations for the future. When working on a new concept, a discussion among all the actors who play the role in the current system of pre- school childcare services should take place, the recommendations of supra- national and international bodies and non-profit organizations should be taken into account and inspiration for specific measures should be taken from examples of good practice from abroad.

Children's Group as an Alternative Care Service for Preschool Children

The bachelor thesis focuses on the children's group as an alternative care service for pre-school children, in which two main goals were set. The first aim of the bachelor thesis was to find out what is the care of children in selected children groups in the South Bohemian Region. The second objective was to find out how the parents are satisfied with the service of children's groups and why they choose this alternative. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters, the first dealing with the history of the origin and development of pre-school institutions. The second chapter deals with other child care services from 1 year to 7 years in the Czech Republic. The third chapter explains in detail how the children's group works and what it has to fulfil. In the practical part, a combination of quantitative and qualitative research was used. A semi-structured interview was conducted with the leaders of each children's group. A questionnaire was created for the parents whose children attend these facilities, and it was sent in bulk by the informants. The information obtained was elaborated in the form of mind maps, tables and graphs. The results of this work may be useful for the idea of running children's groups within the South Bohemian Region. They can be used by current or future employees in children's groups, parents using this service, or those who decide to include children in a children's group. Furthermore, students of pedagogical disciplines and also the general public may increase their awareness of this service.

The support of the preschool children’s care

This thesis deals with the support of the preschool children's care. The main aim of this work is to focus on the support of facilities such as nursery schools and kindergartens. The theoretical part is concerned with the problems of family as such and its support made by the state. The thesis further is focused on the search for importance of preschool facilities for all involved subjects including family, government, municipalities and companies, followed by the introduction of various forms of the extra familiar care with an emphasis on private services. In the practical part of the thesis, there is analysed the demand and supply of childcare services by demographic, regional and economic development. It points out the main problems in this area and compares the Czech system with European states. The final section presents new directions, where the area is approaching. It also brings an appraisal with findings that without the support of the state surveyed area cannot be developed further. Suggestions how to improve the whole system are mentioned as well.
